Fierce and sophisticated, Paul Kobak has over fifteen years of litigation experience, more than half with one of the largest law firms in the country. Our unique position allows us to effectively and efficiently handle disputes of all sizes, providing big-picture legal counsel without the big-firm overhead.
Paul Kobak has extensive experience litigating complex business cases in state and federal courts. His practice includes representing clients in actions seeking to enforce foreign judgments in Florida, shareholder disputes, defamation actions, fraud claims, violation of intellectual property rights, whistleblower claims, and breaches of a wide range of business contracts.
Paul grew up near Golden, Colorado, and attended Colorado State University. After graduating, Paul lived in São Paulo, Brazil, for over four years. During that time, he taught English to top-level professionals, including business executives, judges, and lawyers. Paul graduated from the University of Miami School of Law, magna cum laude, in 2005. In law school, Paul was an editor of the University of Miami Law Review, President of the International Law Society, and received numerous awards for academic excellence.
Before opening Kobak Law in 2020, Paul worked over nine years with the litigation practice group at Akerman LLP. Paul speaks Portuguese and, among his professional awards, was recognized by Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in 2011 and 2012. Paul lives in South Florida with his wife, twin children, and schnauzer.

Represented yacht owner against Australian yacht manufacturer on claims including breach of contract, fraud, violation of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, and violations of the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Co-counseling with Akerman LLP, Mr. Kobak was lead counsel at the jury trial that spanned over two months, achieving a judgment of close to $500,000 for his client and successfully defeating the manufacturer’s multi-million-dollar counterclaims for defamation and tortious interference with business relationships.
Represented Brazilian aircraft dealer in obtaining a declaratory judgment affirming the dealer’s ownership rights to an aircraft, which allowed the dealer to submit registration documentation to the Brazilian National Civil Aviation Agency.
Represented national window and door parts dealer in its successful acquisition of local competitor’s business assets.
Represented Brazilian cargo transportation company in its lawsuit against Florida-based aircraft parts supplier, resulting in a favorable settlement.
Represented chemical supply company and its principal in a lawsuit brought by the principal’s former employer, which asserted allegations of tortious interference, violation of Florida’s Uniform Trade Secrets Act, and Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act. Successfully obtained dismissal of all claims less than six months after suit was filed.
Represented Brazilian aviation component dealer corporation in its lawsuit against Florida supply chain company for failure to repay substantial business loan. Succeeded in obtaining favorable settlement within three months of filing lawsuit.

Represented Brazilian information technology company in the successful recovery of its sensitive business records from its former professional service provider in Florida.

Represented aircraft dealer before Florida’s Fourth District Court of Appeal in successful appeal reversing attorneys’ fee order.

Represented financial services company in its lawsuit against Brazilian technology and construction conglomerate for tortious interference with business, including before Florida’s Third District Court of Appeal in successful appeal affirming order finding proper service of process on the Brazilian defendants.
